| We were in a trio with Hermana Henson two whole days and it was weird to be three but it was AWESOME! |
What a SUPER week! It really was superb!
First of all, as I'm sure y'all are dying to know, here's a JUAN PABLO UPDATE!!!! He came to church again!!!!!!! What a guy. We had a great lesson with him this week as well. We taught him about the importance of prayer. We have talked about this actually countless times with him, but this time we really made it. Patience and persistence. They get you places. He has always refused to pray in the name of Jesus Christ because, although he is learning more about Him and starting to really feel He is an important part of his life, for JP, his conversations with God are very personal and he doesn't like to include Jesus Christ in the equation. But, at the same time, he's not receiving answers to his prayers. We have shared many reasons why we pray in the name of Jesus Christ over the weeks and months, but this week, Hermana Briggs and I did some studying. In the bible dictionary we found this handy little guy:
We pray in Christ’s name when our mind is the mind of Christ, and our wishes the wishes of Christ—when His words abide in us (John 15:7). We then ask for things it is possible for God to grant. Many prayers remain unanswered because they are not in Christ’s name at all; they in no way represent His mind but spring out of the selfishness of man’s heart.Better than I could've said it. Although Juan Pablo is still a little shaky on whether or not Christ is the Savior of the world and redeems us of our sins (we're workin' on that, no se preocupen), he does believe that he is a perfect example for us and that he was the only person ever who has fully aligned his will with the will of the Father. Explaining how we pray in the name of Him to align our wishes with his was just what he needed to hear to start praying in the name of Jesus Christ and now Juan Pablo is on his way to some major prayers answered. WOOHOO!! Go JP! Tune in again next week!!
This week everyone decided to start doing the great things we invite them to do!!! We went to visit Ines, Marcos, and Felix. the first thing Felix said was "I read the homework you gave me, but I don't know if i understand it. I need help". We went through it with them, taught the plan of salvation, answered some great questions of the soul with the Book of Mormon, and Felix says "Awesome. Okay whats my homework this week?" Yeah Felix!! The first time we met him he told us he doesn't read. Now he's asking us for more. MILAGRO!
We had transfers yesterday but don't worry, I'm staying in cute little Las Condes with Hermana Briggs!
There were lots of other things that were great, but I'll have to tell you later! Love y'all! Hope you're having a great week! Get out there and do something great! Besitos!!!!!!
Love, Hermana Siebach
