Scripture Power!!!

Christmas cheer out the wazoo!

Feliz Navidad!
This one’s gonna be little since I got to talk to y’all YESTERDAY!!!! Highlight of my life. What a happy thing to hear your voices and see all your cute faces. LOVE.

Skype was a big fail, but Google Hangouts saved the day!!!

Christmas was lovely. We were able to have a nice Christmas dinner with our favorite family here, and they were so kind to us. We went to about a billion devotionals, we sang all the Christmas songs that there are, and we smiled a LOT. I was scared Christmas was going to be sad so far from family, but it was such an amazing time to focus on the Lord and all that came from his humble birth. I am so grateful!

Happy home time!! Six months a nothin' and then bam! All the happiness at once!

Everything is awesome, but the puzzle letter from y'all was my favorite part.

This week we were also able to travel and help with a capilla abierta in another ward. Hermana Ence and I taught a lovely lady named Paola for about 12 minutes in our broken Spanish and by the end, she was crying for love for the Savior and the miracle that she had wandered into the chapel that day. Now she wants to be baptized! GO PAOLA!

We have one awesome investigator! Javier. he is working to quit smoking so he can be baptized. Meanwhile we have been working with him to help him gain a testimony of a living prophet. something amazing happened! I was reading the Book of Mormon in Mormon 9 during my personal study. It talks about how God is the same in the past, now, and forever. Later that day, we were teaching Javier. He was having a hard time believing from just our words that there would be a prophet on earth today. I was able to remember what I had studied in the morning and it totally changed the trajectory of the lesson! Why WOULDNT Heavenly Father give us that same guidance he gave back then, today too? Well, he would! And he does! From this experience, I strengthened my own testimony of a living prophet on the earth today, and my testimony of the need to read the scriptures EVERY DAY! If I had not read them that morning, I woud not have been ready to share with Javier with the same power and spirit. SCRIPTURE POWER!

Ok gotta go! Love y’all with all my little heart. I hope you had the sweetest, happiest Christmas!

Feliz Navidad!!

Hola!!
I'm grateful for this season!!! As far as I've seen, people here don't really do much different during Christmas. They do decorate stuff, but that's about it. Plus it's HOT so that's weird! BUT, I've got a big ol' fiery christmas spirit burning inside of me so it doesn't even matter! Christmas is awesome! And the meaning of it is even awesomer! I'm grateful to know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that he was born to redeem the souls of all of us! Todos! I apologize if I am not making total sense. I'm translating from Spanish in my head now, which is kinda cool but I think it might make my emails sound like a child wrote them :-O

This week we were able to visit an investigator who wants to be baptized but he is having a hard time with the Palabra de Sabiduria (word of wisdom). We have shared with him the great blessings, health-wise and spiritually, that will come when he keeps this commandment, but that doesn't mean that it will be easy. He is strong and has real desires to keep the commandments of God, so I feel good about his future, but if any of you have experienced this or have some advice, send it my way!!!. Thank you :)

I'M PUMPED TO TALK TO THE FAM NEXT WEEK! Hopefully your cute faces can reach halfway across the world through cyberspace! That will be a happy christmas present. Families are the best. So great that they can be together forever. I'm grateful I get to share that sweet tidbit of truth everyday for the next little while!

Ciao! Hugs! Remember why we celebrate Christmas and try to make someone's life a little bit better this week! and every week!

Next letter I'll make sure I can send pictures!
Love!

Milagros!

Hola Amigos!

Today, I woke up, and it was misting. Milagro! So happy! Today, we went to the supermercado. We were waiting to cross the street, but Hermana and I were looking at each other and talking and missed the beginning of the green "you can walk" light. When we realized, we began forward and a car ran a red light and zipped right in front of our faces. If we had gone when it turned green, we would have been pancakes. Milagro! On Sunday, we were on the metro coming back from a Christmas fireside. Most people on the metro are in their own little world, but I went ahead and tapped a man on the shoulder. He turned around and we had a lovely gospel conversation. Milagro! One day this week, the mountains weren't completely covered in smog and we got to see them. Milagro! There are countless miracles in our lives every day. Little gifts from God to us. I love to look for them and appreciate them and I invite y'all to do the same! It makes life better!

Something that I love is Christmas. We talk about Jesus Christ all the time, but other people are a lot more inclined to think about him and talk about him and appreciate him and worship him in this sweet season. I love it. The world needs to think about Jesus - all that he did for us and all that we can do through Him - a little bit more during this season, and always.

Super short! Sorry! I love y'all and hope you are hugging and loving each other and dancing to happy Christmas music!

Love,

O Ratz!

My favorite book! Good thing we have 40 copies of it in our house!
Hola Everyone!!

Have you ever seen myth busters? Good show. I recommend it. This week we lived that show. MYTH BUSTED. The "rats" are very much real and very much living under our bathtub. And they're huge. The size of my shoe, easily. We came back from a zone activity and were changing our clothes when something came flying out of the closet, scuttling over my feet, and zoomin' on into the bathroom. First we freaked out. Second we slammed the bathroom door closed. Third we called the maintenance man from the mission. His advice: "What would a pioneer woman do?" So, we hung up with him, got a box and a broom, entered the bathroom, and did what a pioneer woman would do. Not gonna get into any of the nitty gritty details, but, RIP.
Lessons learned:
  • We have rats!
  • Rats are very big.
  • Rats can jump very high.
  • Rats do not like to be hit with a broom.
  • We're the toughest hermanas in all of Chile.
The crazy animal story drought has come to an end. Disfruta!.

Rat attack kit

This was a good week and a hard week! On Wednesday I woke up very sick. It hasn't really gotten better, but we're going out and doing all the missionary things anyway! But, I think we are being blessed in our efforts. Or really, other people are being blessed for our efforts. For example, we went and visited a menos activo who has not been to church in over 10 years. We shared a scripture that touched his heart, and this week, he came to church! And he loved it!!! We had no idea that the scripture we shared and the interest we showed in his life would mean so much to him. It's amazing what can happen when you follow the spirit!

This week I found a beautiful version of All Creatures of our God and King on my mp3 thingy. I probably sound like a hippie granola child with how much I talk about the earth in my emails, but there's just Always Something There To Remind Me about how much God must truly love us to give us such a beautiful, incredible place to learn, and grow and progress. Every creation of our Heavenly Father is so loved (minus maybe rats) and was so masterfully designed by him. It blows my mind. And we are his greatest creation! We can't waste this time; we must have really important things to be doing! Get out of bed! Do something awesome! Talk to your neighbor! Pet your dog! Go serve at a soup kitchen! Sterling, stop watching cat videos on Youtube and write your little sister! There's no time to lose!

Ok I gotta go. Ta ta, chiao ciao, love y'all con todo mi corazon!!!

Love, Hermana Siebach
